Precision Artificial Intelligence
For decades, learning theories have emphasized the individual learner—terms like personalized, adaptive, and student-centerededucation are ubiquitous. Yet most research still examines the average learner. Dr. Saqr will introduce person-specific (idiographic) methodsthat model each learner individually, opening new possibilities for truly precise and personalized education. He will discuss how recent methodological and technological advances can finally help answer the question: What works for whom, and when?
Dr Mohammed Saqr is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at the University of Eastern Finland (UEF). He holds a PhD in Learning Analytics from Stockholm University, Sweden. Before joining UEF, he was a postdoctoral fellow at Université Paris Cité, France, and earned the title of Docent in Learning Analytics from the University of Oulu, Finland. Dr. Saqr established and currently leads UEF’s Learning Analytics (LA) Unit, known for its diverse methodological work and novel approaches. Dr Saqr has extensively published on topics like AI, learning analytics, network science, complex systems, and person-specific research, as well as three methodological books. He has given numerous keynotes, serves as an editor for various journals and conference proceedings, and has proudly collaborated with over 250 researchers from 40 countries.
