Introduction in Ethics & Adaptivity (including AI)

The two introductory seminars first provide an introduction to ethics and various ethical paradigms, explain the difference between morality and ethics, and show how metaethics can be used to distinguish between different ethical paradigms. The seminars then turn to theories of justice. Examples from the field of machine learning are used to illustrate how these theories can be applied.

In the second part of the introduction, several phenomena of algorithmic personalization are discussed and examined through the lens of ethical paradigms.
